The historical monuments of Drăgănești and the nearby communes

                                   - 'A' red marks for the monuments of national interest - 

    In the Drăgănești commune there are 3 wooden churches considered as historical monuments: The Wooden Church of Sebiș (which is a national interest monument), The Wooden Church of Belejeni and The Wooden Church of Talpe.

  And in six of the neighbouring communes, there is the presence of a number of 13 historical monuments, of which three wooden churches of national interest, and another 9 wooden churches of local interest and one wooden crucifix.

The wooden churches of national interest in Drăgănești and the nearby communes among the wooden churches of national interest in all Bihor County

A statement more related to the nature of the historical monuments, can be highlighted the fact that throughout Bihor county there are 15 wooden churches of national interest, including one on the Drăgăneşti territory, and another 3 in immediately adjacent. Expressed in percentage, could be said that 27% of national interest wooden churches from Bihor county are located in  Drăgăneşti commune (one church) and neighbouring communes (3 churches). This fact, even though statistical, increase the awareness of the monument.

The Wooden Church of Sebiș

             Nowadays, the church is an historical monument which was built between 1755-1764. Along the time the church doesn’t  suffer  major changes, it were only few minor restorations such as : the  old "little windows" have been increased or the recoverage with shingles several times.

            The wooden church from Sebiş holds an extremely valuable painting of one of the greatest painters of the Romanian Middle Ages, David Zugravu from  Curtea-de-Argeş, which gives the church a special interest. Admirable is the engraving in wood such as a particular type of engraving in the wood door of the church.

            Inside of the church, alongside paintings there are some very old wooden icons, including those painted by David Zugravu, icons on glass and also an old furniture that stands out with altar table which have the leg made of a stalagmite from cave.

            A bell which has an inscription showing that it was made in 1791 for the Sebiş village.

            Currently in the church is not conducted divine service, in 2007 another new church was nearby finalized.

The Wooden Church of Belejeni

     The wooden church was bought from Saca village by citizens from Belejeni village in 1818.

     In the inside of the church there are kept some very old traditional textile, and remarkably, here there is a very old book named Cazanie (religious book containing sermons or stories where are commented Gospel texts), which was print in Râmnic and another orthodox old book which contains names and personal life of Saints people named Minologhion from Blaj, 1978.

     The church is placed in center of cemetery outside the village.

The Wooden Church of Talpe

Inside church on the beams are emblazoned the year 1732 and the name of the artist, Lupu din Mizieş . Church remained almost unchanged until the interwar period. Construction holds some old prints: Chiriacodramion, Bălgrad (Alba-Iulia), 1699; Evanghelie, Bucureşti, 1760; Penticostar, Blaj, 1768. The church is situated on the top of the hillfar from the village, so it can hardly be observed being surrounded by vegetation.
